2021 Color Trends

I found an article on 2021 design trends and I thought I could critique and give feedback on here.

SOFT TONES

The colors are muted, classy, and very appealing. I am all about this trend and I think I would be perfect for a jewelry website because the jewelry would really stand out.

SIMPLE GRAY, OFF-WHITE, AND A POP OF RED

I am honestly not a fan of this at all. It's professional but doesn't read jewelry or elegance at all. This would work better for a tech company or security system website.

BLUE AND GREEN GRADIENTS WITH WHITE TEXT

I feel like gradients have been making a comeback for a couple years now. I've seen Spotify use them successfully and a couple other brands. I think they ONLY work if they're a color to another color gradient, none of that old black to color stuff! I also would be very careful on which colors you choose. This example of blue to green looks VERY tech-y.

THROWBACK ORANGE AND RED TONES

I am ALL. ABOUT. THIS. It's retro but modern all at the same time. Translating this to a jewelry website would take some tinkering but I think it's doable. Email me if you'd like me to help!

SOFT PINK, BRIGHT PINK, AND JET BLACK

I've definitely seen this on jewelry websites and I love it! The black emits luxury and the pink adds a little playfulness. It's very striking and modern.

GRAY, SOFT YELLOW, AND DEEP BLUE

I get an outdoorsy/hipster feeling from this. I don't think this would work well for a jewelry website.

A VERY LIGHT TOUCH OF EARTH TONES

I love this aesthetic and it obviously works for food but I think it could work for a jewelry website as well. The soft background keeps the earthy colors from being too much. Perhaps if you want to give off an environmentally friendly vibe this could work for you!

LOTS OF RED, BALANCED WITH MUTED TONES

No....no, thanks. It's bold and great for an ad agency but I think I'm just very adverse to red!

FUTURISTIC PASTELS AND PRIMARIES

Okay if you ignore the odd body suits in the picture, I LOVE this. Pastels make a beautiful canvas for jewelry to shine. I have this design vision of pastel backgrounds with shadows of botanicals and then jewelry placed on top. If anyone is interested in having my vision come to life on their site, let me know!

BLACK ON BLACK ON BLACK

Luxury. Mystery. Power. Elegance. Sophistication.
I love this trend as well. Dark mode has been making a comeback for the past couple years. Dark sites used to look dated but they are BACK. And their use of black on black in the photo?! *chef's kiss*
