Hick's Law

Hello!

My name is Sarah and I’m the assoc creative director over here at Punchmark. I’m going to start posting every Tuesday for “Design Tips Tuesday”! Please comment with any design areas you’d love to learn about or where you need help! Before I sign off, here’s your first quick tip...

Website carousels may be a thing of the past! Don’t be afraid to just have one stunning banner. A recent study found that the first slide on a carousel received almost 90 percent of the clicks while the rest were largely ignored. 🙂

This also follows hick’s law. What the heck is hick’s law you ask? Hick’s Law states that the more choices an individual has, the longer they will take to make a decision and that can lead to them being so overwhelmed they never make a decision and leave your site. We want to give your customers a clear a simple action!

I’m all for simplification 🙂

See you next week!
