Spam Filtering

Spam Filtering uses AI to automatically screen the messages that come in through your website's forms — your Contact form, inquiry modals, project requests, and any custom forms you've built. It catches bot junk and unsolicited business pitches before they reach your inbox, so the messages you see are the ones that matter: your customers.

It works hand in hand with the CAPTCHA that's already on every form. CAPTCHA stops the crudest bots at the door; Spam Filtering reads what actually came through and decides whether it looks like a real inquiry.

The Spam Folder

When Spam Filtering is turned on for your site, a new Spam folder appears in your SiteManager inbox, between Archives and Trash. Messages the filter flags land here instead of your main Inbox.

Open any message in the Spam folder to see why it was flagged — a short reason and a confidence level. Most of the time you can ignore this folder entirely; it's there when you want to double-check what was filtered.

If the Filter Gets It Wrong

The filter learns from you. On any message you'll see two buttons:

  • "No, not spam" — moves a filtered message back to your Inbox. Use this if a real customer ended up in the Spam folder.
  • "Yes, spam" — moves a message from your Inbox to Spam.

Every time you use these, you're helping the filter get better at telling real inquiries from spam on your site.

Your Customers Always Hear Back

Even when a message is filtered as spam, the customer still receives their confirmation ("thank you for your submission") email. A real customer is never left wondering whether their message went through — and a spammer never learns they've been filtered.

And if the filter ever can't reach the AI service for a moment, your message is delivered normally rather than held back. Real messages don't disappear.

Want to Receive Business Pitches?

By default, the filter blocks unsolicited business outreach (SEO agencies, web designers, financing offers, and the like). If you'd rather see those messages, just let your Punchmark representative know and we can let non-jewelry business pitches through — you'll stay protected from bot junk and vendor spam.

Using a Vendor or Membership Application Form?

If one of your forms is meant to collect vendor, supplier, or membership applications, let us know before turning on Spam Filtering. The filter treats vendor-style outreach as spam by default, so legitimate applications to a form like that could be filtered. We'll make sure your setup fits how you use your forms.

Turning It On

Spam Filtering is set up by Punchmark. To enable it for your site — or if you have questions about what's being filtered — reach out to your Punchmark representative.
