This page explains how it works, and how it handles analytics and advertising cookies. **This applies only if the cookie consent manager is turned on for your website.** To check, visit your own website in a **private / incognito browser window** — this shows the site the way a brand-new visitor sees it, rather than with cookie choices you've already made. **Wait a few seconds**; the consent popup takes a moment to appear. If a cookie popup shows up, this is active for your site. If none appears, this feature isn't turned on, and none of the below affects you. (Contact Punchmark support to turn it on, or to confirm your settings.) ## What visitors see When the consent manager is active, visitors get a popup where they can accept or decline categories of optional cookies. **Essential cookies** — the ones that keep your site working and secure — always load. **Optional cookies**, like analytics and advertising, are handled based on the visitor's choice. ## Analytics & advertising cookies Your site may use third-party analytics and advertising services — such as **Google Analytics, the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, and Klaviyo** — to measure traffic and marketing performance. These load **through the consent manager**, under an **"Analytics & advertising"** category, so they run according to the visitor's consent rather than automatically on every page. Your site handles these cookies in one of two modes. Contact Punchmark support to confirm which mode your site uses, or to change it. ### Jurisdictional mode — by visitor location - For visitors in places with privacy-consent laws — including the EU, the UK, and the US states of **California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah**, among others — analytics and advertising cookies are **held until the visitor accepts**. - For visitors elsewhere, these cookies **load by default**, and the visitor can opt out at any time. ### Strict mode — all visitors - Analytics and advertising cookies are **held for every visitor, everywhere, until they accept** — regardless of location.
