With EDT Bi-Directional Integration, you have the ability to integrate customers with your website in both directions. Giving your customers access to their own account allows them to add additional items to their wish list, update their account information (address, birthday, anniversary, etc.), check the status of their orders or repairs, and other account-related functions.
How It Works
Customers in the Edge will be sent up to the website
Customers without email addresses will be ignored, since this will act as the username
Any customer who has already registered on your website will be matched by their email address
Customers who have registered on your website, and do not have a customer record in the Edge will be sent back down to the Edge and added as a new customer record
When a new customer is added to the website, and that customer has not registered yet, an invitation email will be sent to the customer to let them know that an online account has been created for them, and they will be sent a link so they can claim their account.
Note: the invitation feature is currently not yet active, as we are still in the process of rebuilding our email framework so that we can handle a large volume of emails and increasing the likelihood of delivery.
